The holiday cottage is situated in a privileged  position at an altitude of 800 meters mid way along the beautiful Vallée de Lesponne. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty yet just 12 kilometres from Bagneres de Bigorre in the department of Hautes Pyrennées. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the Central Pyrenees with its dramatic scenery and wide range of sporting activities or to just relax and enjoy the views and walks in the Vallée de Lesponne. The accommodation is available for holiday rentals year round for summer sun, autumn colours, winter snow and spring flowers.

There is no need to drive to the mountains. Here you are right in the heart of them with  forests, lakes, fast flowing rivers, waterfalls and mountain peaks all within walking distance from the garden gate. There are stunning views from the house and garden of the surrounding forests, and mountain peaks which rise to altitudes of more than 2500 metres. There are a wide range of activities and winter sports available locally and a fast flowing river just beyond the garden that is available for trout fishing in season, tourist permits can be bought locally.

The cottage has a large living/dining room, kitchen, four bedrooms, two toilets and two shower rooms. It is comfortably furnished and has full electric heating for winter, other equipment includes: Colour satellite TV and radio system, that recieves the 5 main French channels as well as free to air British channels including BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, ITV 3 and numerous other TV and radio channels. The cottage is also equipped with  a number of guide books, maps, board games and a selection of reading material.

The accommodation.

 The front door opens to a passage that has doors to a toilet, a shower room, a double bedroom, a bedroom with 1 single bed

The kitchen has modern fitted units and is equipped with; electric oven, 3 gas & 1 electric hob, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and coffee percolator. The kitchen is opens to a dining and open plan living area.

There are french windows leading from the living dining room to the south facing terrace that has views of the surrounding forests and mountain peaks and looks over the fast flowing river just beyond the garden.

The living area has an efficient open fireplace for added ambiance during winter evenings. From the dining area there is a polished open tread stair case leading to a landing with doors to:  2 double bedrooms, and a shower room with shower, wash basin, and toilet.

The garden and surrounding area. 

The house has a large fenced garden with a stream.  There are breathtaking views from the garden and cottage of the surrounding pine and beech forests as well as the mountain peaks rising to an altitude of more than 2500m. There is ample parking in the garden for 3 cars. A large number of walking destinations that can be reached on foot directly from the garden gate without having to go near a paved road including the most famous destination, Lac Bleu. This is a large lake high in the mountains that on a sunny day truly lives up to its name. There is a fast flowing river just beyond the garden which is stocked with trout and is available for fishing in season with the appropriate tourist permit. There is direct access from the garden to the numerous tracks and paths in the valley and beyond, which offer unlimited walking to water falls, lakes, forests and mountain peaks. Many of the tracks are suitable for mountain bikes which can be hired locally and during the summer months pony trekking is available 1km from the house. There is a mountain sports centre nearby which caters for a wide range of activities ranging from paragliding to white water rafting. Windsurfing and canoeing are available at Payolle which is within a 30 minute drive, and golf, tennis and swimming are available in Bagneres de Bigorre. There are 7 restaurants within a distance of 6km from the house and the nearest is a 10 minute walk away.

Bagneres de Bigorre is a small elegant town which has a daily covered market, restaurants, swimming pool, tennis courts, supermarkets, and a Casino. There is also a reasonably priced 18 hole golf course, and Aquensis, an aquatic activities centre with swimming pool and saunas which are open to the public 7 days per week. Saturdays are renowned for the colourful street market which attracts local farmers from the surrounding area who come to sell their produce.

To aid visitors to choose between the numerous architectural, historical and natural sites to visit the house is equipped  with a range of guide books and maps.

For winter holidays the house has full electric central heating as well as the open log fire. The largest ski area in the Pyrenees Tourmalet/La Mongie, is 25km away and is normally open from before Christmas to mid April.
